Shree Naro Ram Shenai Rege ,of Kochare Tal. Vengurle, Konkan became the minister with Maratha warrior & General धनाजी राव जाधव / Dhanajirav Jadhav in 1691 near सातारा / Satara.
Chh.Shivaji `s grandson & son of brave Sambhaji Raje, Shahu was in captivity of Aurangjeb.
After the death of Aurangzeb, Shahu was released in the year 1708.
He established his throne in Satara. Shree Naro Ram jee joined Shahu Maharaj as his मंत्री / Mantri / Minister in 1708.
He was an ardent devotee of Shree Shanta Durga and at that time the temple was in a thatched house & covered with coconut leaves. He was at pains to see his ancestral temple in that poor state. So , he made efforts and requested his Maharaj Shahu jee , to help him in this regard. Shahu Maharaj sanctioned the desired funds and help.
But the actual work to build the new temple started in the late 1730 s & it was completed in the year 1739 /40 .
During his lifetime, Mantri visited this site several times & saw the progress, personally. All the Mahajans of Shree Shanta
Durga were greatly obliged and in the meeting / Mahajan Sabha honoured Shree Naro Ram jee with a मानपत्र / Man Patra ,
Turban and Shawl were presented by the Kaiwalyapur Swamijee ! It was also unanimously decided to reserve a seat of honour to any member of Mantri family[ पिलर ऑफ मंत्री ], permanently. Not only this , but पालखी / Palanquin / and music/band is sent to receive
any Mantri family member visiting the deity at the border of Kawale village [ on Ponda road ] where the Devasthan committee has
constructed pillars to receive Mantris with Aartee & Haldee ,Kumkum 'No one is allowed to sit next to the pillar in the temple . In the absence of any Matri family member , only the Kamavisdaar of the temple may sit there but has to vacate if any Mantri family member enters .
Shree Naro Ram jee also requested his master Shree Shahu Maharaj jee
to gift / Arpan the village of Kaiwalyapur , in the name of the Goddess Shree Shanta Durga . - which he did.

* I am fortunate to be very closely connected with this historical family ,as my late father`s eldest sister Indumati devi / Janaki Devi
was married to the late Shree Ramchandra Rav Trimbak Rav Mantri of Bagani & Islampur .
